Cookie Policy
Last updated: 4 July 2026
This policy explains how becomingjournal.com uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser localStorage). We keep this deliberately minimal: we run no advertising or analytics tracking until you give consent through our cookie banner.
What we use, and why
- Strictly necessary (always on, no consent required). Small amounts of browser storage that make the site work — for example, remembering that you have already seen or dismissed our Day-One popup, and your cookie choice itself. These do not track you across sites and are exempt from consent under the EU Cookie Law.
- Payment (set at checkout by Stripe). When you proceed to pay, Stripe sets cookies needed to process the transaction securely and prevent fraud. See Stripe’s cookie settings and Stripe’s privacy policy.
- Analytics and advertising measurement (consent required, off by default). Google Analytics measures traffic and page views, and if we run ads, the Meta (Facebook) Pixel measures page views and purchases. These scripts load only after you click “Accept” in our cookie banner. If you reject, no Google Analytics or Meta script loads and no analytics or advertising data is sent. See Google’s cookie policy and Meta’s cookie policy.
Third parties
The third parties that may set or access cookies through this site are Stripe (payments), Google (traffic measurement, only after consent), and Meta (advertising measurement, only after consent). Our host, Vercel, processes server logs to serve and secure the site but does not set tracking cookies in your browser.
Changing your choice
You can change or withdraw your cookie consent at any time using the “cookie preferences” link in the footer of our home page, which reopens the banner. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
Do Not Sell or Share (California)
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents can exercise their choices via the same “cookie preferences” link, or by emailing support@becomingjournal.com.
